The Oscar-winning actress took her stage name from her paternal grandmother, to whom she was very close. They were last together in February when Zeta-Jones attended her 91st birthday celebrations.
Dressed in black mourning clothes and with her eyes hidden behind dark glasses, the Darling Buds of May star, 38, followed the funeral cortege from Mrs Jones' home in Ravenhill, Swansea to St Peter's Church in nearby Cockett.
Her husband, actor Michael Douglas, and their children, Dylan and Carys, were not present.
During the half-hour service, Zeta-Jones read Daffodils by William Wordsworth, her grandmother's favourite poem. The service included Welsh hymn Calon Lan and There Is A Green Hill Far Away.
More than 150 mourners attended. One said afterwards: "It was a lovely, warm family service for an old lady who was obviously much loved."

The name comes from a merchant ship which carried copper from South America to the
